Where We Work

'BBF operates across multiple counties in Kenya, with primary conservation areas in Uasin Gishu, Nakuru, and Kwale, and education and community programmes in Baringo and Elgeyo Marakwet. BBF's reach extends further through partnerships and school visits to the Eldoret Animal Sanctuary from across Kenya.

The Wileli Wildlife Conservancy is a 300-acre protected landscape situated along Moi South Lake Road, approximately 40 kilometres from Naivasha town. Community Impact β€” Ndabibi School

BBF piped water from the existing borehole to Ndabibi Main Comprehensive School (est. 1971), installed two large water storage tanks, established hand-washing stations, and upgraded the school gate.

Tiwi Beach & Indigenous Forests β€” Protecting Kenya's Coastal Ecosystem

The Tiwi Beach and Indigenous Forest Conservation Program is located approximately 25 kilometres from Kwale town along Kenya's south coast. The area features well-preserved indigenous coastal forests that play a vital role in supporting biodiversity, stabilizing the coastline, and protecting marine ecosystems.

BBF's presence in Tiwi is anchored by Swahili House, a Private Collections hospitality property approximately 1km from the Tiwi Turtle Conservation Project (Tiwi Turtle Police).

Conservation Challenges

Sea turtle populations face pressure from beach development, illegal fishing, and disturbance of nesting sites. BBF and Swahili House have partnered with the Tiwi Turtle Police on public awareness signage, beach clean-ups, and turtle monitoring.

Community Impact β€” Kirudi Primary School

BBF has provided 20 new desks (capacity for 60 students) and two 10,000-litre water tanks. Water tank connection to the main borehole is underway.
